The amount of Kratom you need depends very much on the strength of the Kratom used. For inexperienced users 5-10 grams of leaves should be enough, or half those amounts when using extract. More experienced users may wish to increase the dosage after a while. For extracts one full dose of an extract or in some cases 2. It all depends on tolerance.

One of the most astounding things about Kratom is that its effects change depending on the dosage. A small amount of this plant produces stimulation, which usually manifests as the following:

• Increased energy
• Sociability
• Feelings of euphoria
• Motivation

By contrast, higher doses are more sedating. Individuals who take a larger amount also experience:

• Feelings of contentment
• Help with pain
• Decreased anxiety
• Feelings of calm and relaxation

This larger dose is favored among those who take Kratom for recreational use. Some people experience a reverie-like state when consuming high doses.

If Kratom is not mixed with other drugs or a lot of alcohol it is very safe. There are many scientific journals that show exactly how safe Kratom is. It is almost impossible to over dose on it and compared to opioid based drugs Kratom does not cause respiratory failure.

This comes down to the individual. Start out with a smaller amount and see what it does and how and if it helps. Once you become a bit more familiar with it, it will be easy to determine how much you need for the desired effects.

Please note that it is possible to build up a tolerance to Kratom therefore you should bear in mind what you are using it for and the condition you are trying to treat.

For lighter ailments or recreational use for energy performance it is better to use infrequently and not exceed a certain amount. For people suffering from chronic pain or drug withdrawal there are many sites that detail various protocols for dealing with such issues.
